About us
The Institute
The Institute has been established in 1960 to meet the growing demand of technical man power in Maharashtra State of India. The Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad is one of the renowned institute in Maharashtra. and its establishment has fulfilled the aspirations of people of Maharashtra State. The institute is offering UG programs in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunications, Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology. The Post‐graduate programs leading to Masters Degree in Engineering have been introduced in the year 1986. The institute is functioning as an autonomous institute affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad since academic year 2006‐07. The Institute is situated in the heart of Aurangabad city at about 1 km from railway station, sprawling over a campus of around 22 acres. The institute has earlier completed World Bank Projects TEQIP-Phase-I, Phase-II and implementing TEQIP‐Phase‐III program focusing academic reforms at UG & PG programs and promoting Research and Development activities along with Research Programs.
Department of Electrical Engineering
The Department of Electrical Engineering at the Government College of Engineering Aurangabad was established in 1960, foundation year of the Institute and has a history of almost 60 years. The Department offers full time Undergraduate B.Tech. program in Electrical, Electronics & Power and two Postgraduate M. Tech. programs in Electrical Power Systems and Electrical Machines & Drives. The Department also offers part time Undergraduate B.Tech. program in Electrical, Electronics & Power and Postgraduate M. Tech. program in Electrical Power Systems for the employees of nearby industrial, government sectors.
The Alumni of the Department are giving their excellent performance in the field of Electrical Engineering in various Industrial and Government organizations. The Department has well equipped laboratories with necessary infrastructural facilities. The Department also offers consultancy & testing services for industries. The faculty are handling various research & development projects, industrial and government consultancies, testing & technical inspections. The Department is receiving various grants from AICTE, UGC, TEQIP and other agencies for overall development of academics.
